Jorden  completed her Bachelor's Degree at Capilano University and has recently earned her Neurologic Music Therapy designation. 

She loves working with kids of all abilities and enjoys seeing them engaged and actively enjoying learning. Jorden firmly believes that all individuals learn differently and that a positive learning environment is a key to success. She enjoys the challenge of thinking creatively to meet client needs.

Winson Wong
Music Therapist

Winson received a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology and a minor in Early Education from Simon Fraser University. He earned his Bachelor of music therapy in September 20201. He is an experienced baby music instructor with a love of working with children. Winson has a quiet, approachable energy that clients love and has a client-centered approach to music therapy.

Music Therapist: Sing It Girls

Sing It, Girls!™ is a fun and interactive group vocal program for girls ages 6-12, designed to nurture a love of music while building community, confidence, creativity, and learning tools to combat anxiety.

THROUGHOUT THIS MULTI-WEEK PROGRAM, GIRLS WILL:
- learn breathing techniques to combat stress and help with emotional regulation
- sing and explore their voices in a supportive group environment
- share their experiences and develop meaningful relationships with their peers
- collaborate to create lyrics and explore elements of song composition.

Olivia Nussey
Music Therapist

Olivia completed her training for classical music and music therapy at Capilano University. She received her accreditation through the Canadian Association of Music Therapy in January 2018. Since then, Olivia has split her time working in the North Van School District, and across many sites of Providence Health Care. Olivia also teaches piano and ukulele in-home to families on the North Shore.  When she’s not busy with her musical projects, Olivia enjoys trail running and keeping active with her Husband and friends.

Olivia’s therapeutic approach is eclectic and strengths-based. She believes that curiosity and creativity are vital to human development, and that every individual has the potential to learn about themselves and the world through musical experiences.

Iris Lam
Piano Teacher

Special Education - Piano Program

Iris is a fun, and experienced special educator dedicated to discover the different learning styles of each student, making lessons fun and enjoyable while grasping the concepts learned. She completed her undergraduate at UBC, has undergone a valuable mentorship program from UBC School of Music, inspiring her to research more pedagogy training from famous composers like Forrest Kinney. She had the honour to learn from Forrest Kinney and he has been her inspiration to continue his legacy on “Pattern Play,” an art of piano improvisation. Iris is certified in the curriculum for Music for Young Children (MYC), Musikgarten, Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM). She has been teaching for over 15 years and as a side hobby, she enjoys playing the harp.

For her active pursuit of continuing education in her teaching career, she is recognized by Music Teacher National Association (MTNA) and received the Teacher Enrichment Award in 2015. She loves working with students from age 3 years, adults to seniors with all levels and abilities, including special students with learning disabilities. She enjoys finding fun ways to enhance student’s education through piano; teaching them music appreciation and exploring their musicality and creativity.

Iris believes we can all make music and learn to express our feelings with music. Her recent study in Special Music Education with Dr. Erin Parkes and teaching experience involves using adaptation to custom lesson plans, developing flexible and playful strategies to support students with diverse abilities. Whether it is fine motor, regulation, following rules, growth mindset to stretching or reducing anxiety, the new piano program for special students incorporates individual learning goals into piano play. After gaining valuable teaching insight as a Behavioural Interventionist, an Educational Assistant and Inclusion Teacher for schools inclusive of Kenneth Gordon Maplewood School, she founded an Adapted Piano Program in 2022.
