What does a general party overview look like?

- Meet & Greet – children arrive and place presents on the table, party schedule is introduced and expectations are set. (15 minutes)
- Activity – a predetermined activity, customized to your specific party theme, is run by the birthday party leader(s) (45 minutes)
- Cake – children transition to the cake table where we sing happy birthday, blow out the candles, and enjoy some delicious cake! (15 minutes)
- Presents – we always save the best for last – PRESENTS! *if parents would like presents to be opened at home, free play can be substituted into this time slot (25 minutes)
- Goody bags & Goodbyes – we bid farewell for the day. (5 minutes)

Where can I park?

There is one space in front of the centre that is one hour parking that is good for dropping off or picking up your child(ren). 
There is a small paid parking lot beside the centre, just down the alley with 14 spaces. Please do not park in any reserved spaces or in the fire lane in the alley. There is also street parking on Main St or on 10th St. Please ensure you check signage on Main St as there are some no parking hours. 
If additional parking is required, there is a large underground parking lot under Thierry across Main St.

What is your cancellation policy for Events & Birthday Parties?

Birthday Party & Event Cancellation Policy:

If you cancel up to 14 days prior to the Event Date, you will be entitled to a full refund, minus the $50 admin fee. If you cancel between 7 and up to 14 days prior to the Event Date, you will be entitled to a fifty percent (50%) refund, minus the $50 Admin fee. If you cancel less than 7 days prior to the Event Date, you will not be entitled to a refund.​

We charge a $50 admin fee whenever you make a cancellation for a birthday party or event.

Are we allowed to bring in a DJ?

Unfortunately no. We are in a residential building and are not allowed DJ's at the centre.

Question 5

How early are we allowed to arrive to set up for our event?

Accepted Answer

You are welcome to arrive 30 minutes early to set up for your event. If you require additional time, please email us at events@thisworldsours.com to arrange. There will be hourly fees associated to any additional time.

Are we allowed to tape things to the walls?

Yes, but we do require you use painter's tape. We have some available if needed at the centre.

What is your maximum occupancy?

Our maximum occupancy is 60 people.

Can we purchase goody bags?

Accepted Answer

We have two options for goody bags to purchase for your party guests:

- Craft Kits from Natural Play Co: Include a wooden animal/shape, paint, paintbrush, and glitter.        $5 each + tax

- Bath Bombs from Loot Toys: Indiviually packaged bath bombs made locally in Vancouver.
$5 each + tax

Question 9

Can I change the number of guests for my birthday party from 12-18 or vice versa?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but we kindly ask for 14 days notice to change a party from 12-18 and vice versa. This allows us to staff appropriately and ensure we have enough supplies for the event.

Do you supply decorations?

All decorations must be provided by the party hosts.

What is the maximum capacity for children for a birthday party?

Accepted Answer

Our maximum birthday party capacity is 18 children. If you are interested in throwing a larger party, please visit our ‘Space Rentals' page for additional options or ideas.

Question 13

Can I bring in outisde food for my event?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Our space has a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge, oven, and microwave. Party hosts must supply all food and beverages.

Question 14

Can I bring in alcohol?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but we need to know at the time of the event booking to secure a liquor license and insurance. There is an additional $175 fee to cover these costs and our staff must serve the alcohol at the event.

No alcohol licenses permitted for birthday parties.

Question 15

Can parents stay during a birthday party?

Accepted Answer

Parents are more than welcome to stay. Our facility has a maximum occupancy of 60 people.
