PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES

Mary Turri
Psychologist

Hi! I’m Dr. Turri (she/her). I am a Registered Psychologist in Vancouver BC, practicing in child, youth, and family psychology. I specialize in assessment, therapy, and consultation for children and youth with neurodiverse presentations, and I have special interests in family-centered support, parent-led intervention, school collaboration, and neurodiversity-affirming care. Here at This World’s Ours, I provide assessments, therapy, and parent consultation for children and youth. I also conduct assessments for youth transitioning to adulthood (e.g., post-secondary and/or Community Living BC
services), and for young adults in post-secondary settings. I have extensive experience conducting assessments for a range of conditions, including Autism, specific learning disorders (e.g., dyslexia), giftedness, developmental delays, ADHD, and mental health conditions.

My goal is to work collaboratively with clients and their caregivers to provide meaningful assessments that inform the most appropriate recommendations and supports, while also highlighting each client’s unique strengths. I strive to provide compassionate, neurodiversity-affirming, and thorough assessments, tailored to your specific needs. My approach to working with children and youth is grounded in creating a safe and welcoming space where their voices and needs are heard and included. I believe every
child and family deserves care that recognizes their strengths and individuality.

I completed my PhD in School and Applied Child Psychology at the University of British Columbia. I completed my doctoral residency in Clinical Child Psychology at McMaster Children’s Hospital, and a clinical fellowship in the BC Autism Assessment Network (BCAAN) program at Sunny Hill Health Centre (BC Children’s Hospital), where I am currently a staff psychologist. I am designated as a “Qualified Specialist” (QS) in Autism assessments through BCAAN, and am part of a team of clinician mentors who support
providers learning to conduct autism assessments across the province. I have
specialized experience completing complex autism assessments, including in the context of other mental health or neurodevelopmental conditions, and in clients who may resonate with the concept of “masking.”

In addition to my assessment work, I also provide therapeutic intervention. I have specialized experience in early childhood, working as a staff psychologist in the Early Childhood Mental Health program at Richmond Hospital for over five years. Currently, I provide therapy for anxiety, selective mutism, ADHD, and behavioural concerns for children and youth.
